Fontaines D.C. is set to release their fifth studio album, "Dopamine Chamber," on October 16 via XL Recordings. The Dublin-formed band has announced the forthcoming LP, produced by James Ford, who previously collaborated on "Skinty Fia" and "Romance."
The album was recorded in various locations, including London, the English countryside, and Palermo. It features a noticeable shift towards a darker, electronic-infused sound, as guitarist Conor Curley described it as an exploration of "stuff that pointed into the future."
The lead single, "Marianne," has been released and was partly inspired by the 2024 Netflix series "Ripley," based on Patricia Highsmith's novel. This track received its live debut on August 8 in Cadiz, Spain.
"Dopamine Chamber" follows their Grammy-nominated albums and successful releases like "Romance," which earned a BRIT award. The band will also headline Reading & Leeds Festival on August 30.
