Summary
- Musician Flea releases his solo debut album 'Honora' on March 27.
- The album features Flea on both trumpet and electric bass.
- Flea's new album is named after his great-great-grandmother.

For two years, Flea led a dual existence, performing nightly with the Red Hot Chili Peppers to stadium crowds while dedicating his mornings to intensive trumpet practice. This private dedication has culminated in his full-length solo debut, "Honora," released on March 27. The album showcases Flea on both trumpet and electric bass, accompanied by a notable ensemble of contemporary jazz musicians, including guitarist Jeff Parker and bassist Anna Butterss.
The 63-year-old musician expressed that the project is a holistic representation of himself, blending his diverse musical interests without self-censorship. "Honora" is largely instrumental, but features guest vocal appearances from Nick Cave and Thom Yorke. The album's title honors Flea's paternal great-great-grandmother, whose challenging life in Ireland and Australia influenced the artist. A photograph of his mother-in-law adorns the album cover. Flea and his band are scheduled to perform live dates in the United States and Europe throughout May.
