As of 2025-10-25, the Diwali release Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has managed to be a big hit, but a section of the audience has had reservations with the actions of the male protagonist and how he goes all out to win the girl he loves, even though she is not interested in him.
In an exclusive interview, writer-director Milap Zaveri addresses the criticism. He acknowledges that there would be diverse views, but states that this is the era of films like Animal and Kabir Singh, where audiences have accepted such flawed characters with open hearts.
