Vice Studios is developing a television series based on Anika Jade Levy's debut novel, "Flat Earth." Levy is also serving as a co-creator for the adaptation.
The novel, published in November 2025, is described as a portrait of female ambition in contemporary New York. It follows best friends Avery and Frances as they navigate their friendship, rivalry, and struggles for survival.
The plot features Frances's experimental documentary, also titled "Flat Earth," which leads the pair on a road trip. The series will explore themes of the attention economy, stimulant abuse, and the challenges of ambition.
As Frances rises in the art world, Avery faces financial and emotional difficulties, exacerbated by a nationwide Adderall shortage. Their friendship begins to fracture under the strain of their diverging paths.
Vice Studios president Amy Powell expressed excitement for the project, highlighting its "fearless, biting, and darkly funny" nature. Levy stated the series is about ambition, friendship, stimulant abuse, and surviving the attention economy.
