FNAF 2: Behind the Spooky Animatronic Costumes

Costume designer Whitney Anne Adams undertook an exhaustive deep dive into the 'Five Nights at Freddy's' lore and its dedicated fan base to prepare for the sequel. She meticulously studied every available image, book, and online community post to fully grasp the animatronic-filled world.

Adams strategically incorporated iconic elements of the Marionette's design into human characters' costumes. Abby's purple striped sweater and Lisa's henley, chosen for their buttons and stripe patterns, served as subtle visual foreshadowing of their eventual transformations into the terrifying Lisaonette and Abbionette hybrids.

Collaborating with the visual effects department and the renowned Jim Henson Creature Shop, Adams brought the Lisaonette and Abbionette puppets to life. This partnership ensured a seamless blend of practical costume elements and digital effects, presenting significant challenges in achieving the correct proportions and transitions for the character designs.
