In October 2025, a new documentary titled "Stop the Insanity: Finding Susan Powter" will shine a light on the public disappearance of the famed '90s fitness instructor. The film, executive produced by Jamie Lee Curtis, reveals that Powter, now 67 years old, has fallen on hard times.
The trailer shows Powter working as an Uber Eats driver in Las Vegas and admitting to spending "a whole day in a welfare office." Powter, who rose to fame through her '90s infomercials and catchphrase "Stop the insanity!", is also seen shopping for groceries and questioning the ingredients in her food.
The documentary delves into how Powter, who allegedly amassed and lost nearly $200 million in business deals at the height of her fame, ended up in this situation. According to the film, "shady management and legal associates drained her finances," leaving Powter with no money. "People don't know. I don't see one penny, where's it going?" she says in the trailer.
Powter, who built a fitness empire after divorcing a former husband and losing more than 130 pounds, is also working on a memoir titled "And Then Em Died...: Stop the Insanity! A Memoir," which she says she started "in case anything happened" to her. "I'm going to blow the roof off," she adds, hinting at the revelations the book may contain.
