- Sheriff Country follows Morena Baccarin's character Mickey, the sheriff of Edgewater

As the 2025-2026 TV season kicks into high gear, viewers are about to get a new addition to the Fire Country universe. This Friday, October 17, 2025, the series premiere of the spinoff show, Sheriff Country, is set to air on CBS.
The new series, which takes place in the same small town of Edgewater as Fire Country, will follow Morena Baccarin's character, Mickey, the current sheriff. Unlike the flagship series, which focuses on firefighters, Sheriff Country will be all about solving and fighting crime in the local community.
However, the two shows are closely connected, as Mickey and Sharon, the Cal Fire Division Chief and Bode's mom on Fire Country, are stepsisters. This family connection was established in the original series and has now set the stage for the spinoff.
In preparing to launch Sheriff Country, showrunner Matt Lopez sought advice from Fire Country's co-creator and star, Max Thieriot, as well as its longtime showrunner, Tia Napolitano. Their guidance has helped ensure that the new series can stand on its own while still maintaining a strong link to its predecessor.
Viewers can catch the Season 4 premiere of Fire Country and the Season 1 premiere of Sheriff Country this Friday, October 17, at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET, respectively, on CBS. Both shows will also be available to stream the next day on Paramount+.
