This trend is notably seen in Indian cinema, where films like 'Peddi,' 'L2: Empuraan,' and 'Vada Chennai' faced modifications after public backlash regarding specific scenes, dialogues, or portrayals.

In one instance, 'Peddi' was edited after viewers criticized aspects of Janhvi Kapoor's character and perceived romanticization of non-consensual behavior. Actor Jagapathi Babu defended Kapoor, emphasizing that actors follow directorial vision. Similarly, 'L2: Empuraan' saw changes after controversies over its content, though director Prithviraj Sukumaran stated the film was not a political statement.

'Vada Chennai' was also edited to remove a scene following objections from a fishing community. Meanwhile, 'Indian 2' was trimmed due to audience feedback on its runtime and pacing, despite initial criticism that the sequel was unnecessary.
