- The case involved financial support for the 2009 film London Dreams.

Filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah has achieved a significant legal victory, concluding a 16-year cheque dishonour case concerning the 2009 film London Dreams. The Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Andheri delivered its verdict on April 15, 2026, bringing an end to the prolonged dispute.
Sunshine Pictures Private Limited, Shah's company, had provided financial assistance to the film's producers in 2009 to facilitate its completion. However, the subsequent repayment cheque was dishonoured by the producers' bank, leading Shah to initiate legal action under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
The court found producers PJ Singh and Gita Bhalla Singh guilty of cheque dishonour. They have been directed to settle the outstanding amount within 90 days. Failure to comply will result in a nine-month prison sentence, as per the court's order dated April 15, 2026.
London Dreams, released in 2009, starred Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Asin and reportedly faced financial challenges during its production. Both Shah and the lead actors had allegedly agreed to reduced fees to ensure the film's completion.
