Veteran filmmaker KC Bokadia has recently highlighted a significant shift in the film industry's work culture. He specifically praised the professionalism of iconic actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Rajinikanth. Bokadia noted that these stars never asked producers to cover the expenses for their personal staff, a stark contrast to current trends.
Bokadia expressed concern over the increasing demands for vanity vans and additional staff among contemporary actors, with some expecting multiple vans equipped with gyms. He questioned the economic viability of such requests, as they substantially increase a film's daily production costs. The filmmaker appealed to actors to consider the financial burden on producers.
Recalling earlier times, Bokadia shared an anecdote about Jackie Shroff, who was unfazed by being offered a double room instead of a suite during a shoot. This incident exemplifies the accommodating attitude of actors from past eras. Bokadia stressed that filmmaking is a business, and actors should support producers to ensure the industry's sustainability.
