Film Chamber President Resigns After One Day

Suniel Narang, a veteran film producer, resigned from his position as president of the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce on Sunday. This decision came only a day after he was elected to a third consecutive term.

Narang cited feeling personally hurt and disrespected by public statements made by others, stating he was not involved in the issues being discussed. He explained that the overwhelming nature of the situation led him to believe stepping down was the best course of action.

Previously, on Saturday, the chamber's secretary had criticized a proposed theatre bandh that was later withdrawn. The secretary also commented on the impact of a film's sudden postponement, noting that many blocked theatre dates were left empty.
