Bulgaria Launches Major Film Prize with International Jury

FFC Bulgaria, an initiative of First Draft Productions, IFFG, and the Female Film Club, has established a significant €50,000 prize for filmmakers. The competition, which accepts short and feature-length projects of any genre, requires a Bulgarian co-producer and a commitment to utilizing facilities at Nu Boyana Studios in Sofia. Eligibility is limited to first-time members of FFC Bulgaria.
The international jury, announced at a recent event in Berlin, comprises prominent figures such as Sara Putt, chair of BAFTA; Jacqueline Wagenstein, director of Cinelibri Intl. Film Festival; Vanessa Hanneman of Henneman Agency; Nina Blagoeva from Alexandra Films; producers Morgan Cano Long and Mariana Conde-Grant; and writer/director Lisa Cole. Representatives from FFC Bulgaria and Film Forge will also join the jury.
