Festa Italiana Returns to July Roots at Festival Park
10 Jul
Summary
- Festa Italiana returns to its traditional July dates at Maier Festival Park.
- The festival was previously held in September and May/June due to scheduling conflicts.
- Fireworks are planned for the first two nights of the July 10-12 celebration.
Festa Italiana is re-establishing itself at Milwaukee's Maier Festival Park in mid-July, marking a return to its historical timeframe for the foreseeable future. The Italian Community Center's flagship event is scheduled from July 10 to 12, resuming a July celebration that has not occurred since before the pandemic. After a couple of years of more intimate events, the festival aims to regain its previous momentum.
In 2020, Festa Italiana was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In subsequent years, it took place in September 2022 and 2023 at the Italian Community Center parking lot. Last year, it was held from May 30 to June 1 at Maier Festival Park due to July date unavailability. For 2026, Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. offered July dates, allowing Festa Italiana to utilize more space in the park's center. Fireworks are planned for July 10 and 11.
