According to Kevin Federline's new memoir, "You Thought You Knew," he received numerous late-night calls from his ex-wife Britney Spears in the past, during which she was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and partying with celebrities like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Federline, who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2007, claims he felt "crushed" by these distressing calls, especially one where he could hear their sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, crying in the background as Spears begged him to come over.
At the time, Federline had already seen the now-iconic photos of Spears, Hilton, and Lohan partying together, and the call felt like his "final straw." He wrote that any hope he had of reconciling with Spears for the sake of their children "died right then." Federline felt that Spears "wasn't ready to change" and he was done "waiting for her" to do so.
Spears has since addressed the "supposedly crazy night" with Hilton and Lohan in her own 2023 memoir, "The Woman In Me." She claimed she had been staying at a beach house with her mother, Lynne Spears, who took care of the children while she, Hilton, and Lohan went out and got "drunk" together. However, Federline's memoir paints a different picture, one of a troubled pop star struggling with her personal life and the impact it had on her family.
