Fatima Al Qadiri Announces 'Dirty Old Man' EP '3TWI'

Fatima Al Qadiri, a musician and producer from Kuwait, has announced an upcoming EP titled 3TWI (عتوي). The EP is scheduled for release on October 9 via Hyperdub. The title 3TWI is derived from Kuwaiti Arabic femme slang, meaning "dirty old man." This announcement follows Al Qadiri's last standalone album, Medieval Femme, and several film soundtracks she has produced, including one for François Ozon's L'Étranger last year. The EP will feature four songs, with some including collaborations with Bobo Secret and Lama3an, and others featuring vocalist Gumar. The first single from 3TWI, "7ilween," which translates to "pretty young things," is available now. A video for the single, directed by artist Sophia Al-Maria, has also been released. The EP cover includes original paintings by Khalid al Gharaball.
