Actor Shahid Kapoor has officially kicked off production for the second season of the popular crime thriller series, Farzi. Kapoor shared a behind-the-scenes image with creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, popularly known as Raj & DK, announcing "Farzi 2 day 1 back at it!!!" on social media.
The creators also hinted at the project's progress by sharing an image of currency notes, signaling "Round 2 in progress." This update confirms that filming for Farzi 2 has begun after months of anticipation from viewers following the first season's release.
Released in February 2023 on Amazon Prime Video, the first season of Farzi featured an eight-episode run. It followed Kapoor as Sunny, a small-time artist drawn into a high-stakes counterfeit currency operation, blending crime, drama, and dark humor.
The ensemble cast included notable actors like Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna, and Kay Kay Menon. Kapoor also has "Cocktail 2" in the pipeline, a sequel to the 2012 film, featuring Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.
