Farihah Zaman has been appointed as the new Artistic Director for the True/False Film Fest, succeeding Oscar-nominated filmmaker Yance Ford. Zaman, a queer Bangladeshi-American filmmaker, critic, educator, and curator, brings extensive experience from roles at Field of Vision and Brown Girls Doc Mafia, where she led significant artist development programs.
She will lead the festival's creative teams, including film, art, and music programs, and artist development initiatives like the Confluence Fellowship supporting Midwestern filmmakers. The 23rd annual festival will take place March 5-8 and features 62 films, including 21 world premieres, selected from approximately 1,500 submissions.
