Farah Khan's Grandfather Owned Khar-Danda; Lost All

Filmmaker Farah Khan recently shared a surprising chapter of her family history, revealing that her grandfather, Aman Gul Pathan, was the original owner of Mumbai's entire Khar-Danda locality. This substantial ancestral estate was donated to a mosque by her grandfather. Following his passing, the land was gradually encroached upon, leaving the family without any legal claim or ownership.

Adding to the family's financial struggles, Farah Khan's father, Kamran Khan, experienced a devastating loss when his 1971 film, 'Aisa Bhi Hota Hai', failed at the box office. This financial collapse occurred within a single weekend, leading to severe debt, the loss of their home, and all their savings. Khan recalled that her father died a pauper with only 30 rupees in his pocket.

Farah Khan, who has spoken about her challenging upbringing, emphasized that she is not a 'nepo kid.' Despite her parents' significant financial ruin, she built her career from the ground up, starting as a background dancer and steadily progressing to become a renowned choreographer and filmmaker. Her journey exemplifies resilience and rebuilding from hardship.
