Farah Khan Denies Unfollowing Deepika Padukone, Cites Private Communication Pact

According to a news report from late September 2025, there was speculation that director Farah Khan and actress Deepika Padukone had unfollowed each other on Instagram. However, Farah has since clarified that the two were never following each other on the platform in the first place.

Farah explained that during the filming of their 2007 movie Happy New Year, she and Deepika had made a pact to communicate directly through messages and calls, rather than on social media. Farah said they even avoid wishing each other happy birthday on Instagram, as Deepika prefers to keep such interactions private.

The reports of the alleged unfollowing came after Farah made several comments in her recent YouTube vlogs that were interpreted as digs at Deepika's reported 8-hour work shift. Farah has now stated that these remarks were not meant as criticism, but rather to highlight how some actors, like Deepika, have more demanding schedules compared to others.

Deepika has not directly addressed these reports or Farah's comments. However, the actress was recently dropped from a major film project, reportedly due to disagreements over her work hours and other contractual demands. This incident has sparked further speculation about Deepika's work preferences and her relationship with industry figures like Farah Khan.
