Fantastic Four Reboot Grosses $521M, Heads to Disney+ in November

Marvel's "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" has proven to be a box office success, grossing $521 million worldwide since its theatrical release on July 25. The 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "First Steps" opened to $117 million domestically and $218 million globally, marking Marvel's strongest opening weekend of the year and the second-highest superhero debut of the summer.

Directed by Matt Shakman, the film takes a fresh approach to the Fantastic Four story, set in a retro-futuristic world that embraces the source material's 1960s campiness. Rather than centering the movie around the characters' origin story, "First Steps" introduces the Fantastic Four at the height of their heroic notoriety, focusing on them as a family.

The new Fantastic Four team includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. The film also features Julia Garner as The Silver Surfer, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, and Paul Walter Hauser as Mole Man.
