On September 24, 2025, a fan was allegedly pepper-sprayed by a sheriff's deputy during a Turnstile concert in Richmond, Virginia. The incident occurred as the fan attempted to climb onto the stage while the Baltimore hardcore band was performing their song "Birds" from their recent album Never Enough.
In a video circulated by local news outlet CBS 6, the fan can be seen trying to join the band on stage, at which point a sheriff's deputy appears to have pepper-sprayed them. Turnstile bassist Franz Lyons was also affected by the alleged pepper spray, covering his eyes and running to the back of the stage.
The Richmond Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the incident is currently under investigation. A spokesperson for the office stated that the local police department had been handling security for the Turnstile show. As of September 29, 2025, the band's representatives have not provided any further comment on the matter.
