Mike Patton Hints at Faith No More's End
25 Feb
Summary
- Mike Patton suggests Faith No More's run may have concluded.
- Band's planned 2020 and 2021 tours were canceled.
- Patton now focuses on his band Tomahawk, touring soon.

Mike Patton, the frontman for Faith No More, has suggested that the band may have reached an unspoken end. While the band last performed in 2016 with a different vocalist, Patton himself has not fronted them since 2015. Plans for a reunion tour in 2020 were thwarted by the pandemic, and subsequent 2021 dates were canceled due to Patton's mental health, specifically his diagnosis of agoraphobia.
Patton recently reflected on the possibility of closure for the band, noting that such feelings may have been unspoken among members. He explained that he doesn't mind the notion of a band's potential end, viewing it as an opportunity to appreciate the present. This sentiment comes even as founding member Billy Gould admitted uncertainty about Faith No More's future last year.
The Grammy-nominated group has released seven studio albums, with their last, *Sol Invictus*, dropping in 2015. Patton, who joined FNM in 1988, is now actively involved with his band Tomahawk, preparing for their first tour in over a decade with the Melvins. He also clarified his perspective on "side projects," stating he views all his musical endeavors as equally important, challenging the notion of a "main" band.
