Failure is gearing up for the release of their new album, "Location Lost," on April 24. The album will be available through Failure Records and Arduous Records via Virgin Music Group.
The band's latest single, "A Way Down," pays tribute to the early '80s work of The Cure and Siouxsie & the Banshees, with member Ken Andrews describing it as an homage to the angular guitar styles and dark atmospheres of those bands. Lyrically, the song explores miscommunication and resulting loneliness.
Work on "Location Lost," which features nine new songs, began in late 2024 after the completion of the band's documentary, "Every Time You Lose Your Mind." "A Way Down" follows the previously released single "The Air's on Fire," inspired by Andrews' recovery from back surgery.
Failure will commence a spring club tour on April 21 in Los Angeles to support the new album. Shoegaze band All Under Heaven will provide opening support for the tour.
