Debuting 47 years ago to negative reviews and poor ratings, 'The Facts of Life' was significantly retooled by NBC after its initial season.
Four original cast members were dismissed, a group that included a young Molly Ringwald. Ringwald later recounted being fired, then rehired, and then fired again because producers wanted cast members closer to Lisa Whelchel's age.
The revamped cast for Season 2 featured Charlotte Rae as Edna Garrett, Lisa Whelchel as Blair, Kim Fields as Tootie Ramsey, and Mindy Cohn as Natalie Green. Nancy McKeon also joined as Jo.
