Viral Video Misidentifies Air Marshal Mishra
6 Sep
Summary
- Video does not show retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra.
- Footage predates Mishra's appointment as CEO.
- Fact-check confirms the man in the video is not Mishra.
A widely circulated video depicting a man dancing with alcohol has been falsely attributed to retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra. The video allegedly shows Mishra celebrating his recent appointment as CEO of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. However, an investigation by India Today Fact Check has conclusively debunked this claim.
Through reverse image searches, the original video was traced to an Instagram account belonging to Vikash Rana, a content creator. A longer version of the clip was shared by Rana on November 3, 2025, and he also posted it on Facebook in November 2025. Rana frequently collaborates with the man seen dancing in the video. A direct comparison of the viral footage with photographs of Air Marshal Mishra revealed no physical resemblance, further confirming the misidentification.
Air Marshal Mishra himself has stated that he is not featured in the viral video and does not recognize the individual. The investigation underscores the proliferation of misinformation online, highlighting the need for verification before sharing such content. This clarifies that the viral video is unrelated to Mishra's professional appointment.
