The Evil Dead franchise, a distinctive force in horror cinema, originated with a 1981 film that redefined the remote cabin trope. Its sequel, released in 1987, escalated the insanity.
Over time, the Sam Raimi-created universe has grown, introducing new elements and characters. As "Evil Dead Burn" approaches, a ranking of all installments, including the TV series, is timely.
"Ash vs Evil Dead" stands as the franchise's highest-rated entry, following Ash Williams as he battles Deadites across the U.S. The show offers over-the-top action, dark humor, and crucial character development.
Other notable entries include the direct sequel to the original, where Ash battles possessed girlfriend Linda, and "Army of Darkness," which sees Ash transported to the Middle Ages.
Later films like the 2013 remake and "Evil Dead Rise" shifted the focus to new characters confronting the Necronomicon in different settings, maintaining the series' terrifying legacy.
