Everest Film Departs Netflix: Last Chance to Stream

The 2015 survival drama Everest will be removed from Netflix on August 1, marking the final opportunity for subscribers to stream the film on the platform. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, the movie recounts the harrowing events of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster, a tragedy that claimed the lives of eight climbers.

The film features a star-studded cast, including Jake Gyllenhaal as Scott Fischer and Jason Clarke as Rob Hall, leaders of the expedition groups caught in the storm. Josh Brolin portrays Beck Weathers, a doctor and amateur climber who miraculously survived the ordeal. The ensemble also includes Robin Wright, Martin Henderson, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, and Elizabeth Debicki.

Released in 2015, Everest achieved considerable commercial success, grossing more than $203 million worldwide against a production budget of $55 million. It also received generally positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, earning nominations for several major industry awards. Currently, the film holds a 73% 'Fresh' rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and a 68% audience score.
