£2.6M Fuels Live IP Experiences for Top Gun & Attenborough

A Scottish live experience firm, Esk, has successfully raised £2.6 million ($3.5 million) in a funding round spearheaded by Maven Capital Partners. This investment, also supported by the Maven Venture Capital Trusts and the British Business Bank's Investment Fund for Scotland, will fuel the company's expansion. Esk, which was established four years ago, transforms intellectual property from major entities such as Netflix, Paramount, and BAFTA into live entertainment. The company boasts a proprietary media control system and has a track record of over 550 shows.

Notable productions by Esk include 'Top Gun: Maverick - Live in Concert', 'Ocean In Concert' narrated by David Attenborough, and Netflix's 'Life on Our Planet - In Concert'. The growing popularity of immersive and live events provides rightsholders with innovative avenues for additional investment, with other productions like 'The Traitors' also venturing into immersive formats. Esk's CEO, Sam Weatherstone, expressed enthusiasm, viewing the investment as a significant endorsement of the company's approach and a catalyst for further capability development.
