23 Feb
Summary
- GoFundMe for actor's family raised nearly $350,000.
- Actor died from ALS less than a year after diagnosis.
- His final wish was to raise awareness for ALS.

A GoFundMe campaign established to support the family of actor Eric Dane, who died on Thursday at age 53 from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), has amassed nearly $350,000. The platform temporarily paused the fundraiser for a standard review but verified it by Monday, with Dane's wife, Rebecca Gayheart, and their daughters, Billie and Georgia, listed as beneficiaries.
Dane's passing comes less than a year after his public diagnosis with ALS, a progressive neuromuscular disease. He had filmed the third season of "Euphoria," in which he appeared in its first two seasons, from a wheelchair due to his declining health. His illness progressed more rapidly than anticipated, according to the fundraising organizers.
