ER Star Alex Kingston Overcomes Cancer, Dances Her Way to Triumph

In the summer of 2024, ER actress Alex Kingston, who played Dr. Elizabeth Corday on the hit medical drama, was in the middle of a production at an English theater when she experienced a major health scare. During the performance, Kingston unexpectedly hemorrhaged on stage, but she was able to conceal the incident by wearing knee pads and a Tudor dress. The wardrobe team quickly provided her with pads to soak up the blood, and Kingston carried on with the show.

This incident was a sign that all was not well with Kingston's body. The 62-year-old actress had been feeling bloated and achy for a while, and she had even noticed blood in her urine, but she had attributed these symptoms to the natural aging process. However, after seeking medical attention, Kingston was shocked to learn that she had cancer in her fallopian tubes.

Despite her positive outlook on life, Kingston underwent a major operation, including a hysterectomy and radiation therapy, to treat the cancer. The treatment was a significant part of her life, but she emerged from it feeling like herself again. In fact, this year, Kingston is healthy enough to be part of the cast of Strictly Come Dancing, the UK's equivalent of Dancing with the Stars. She says she feels like "Superwoman" after her recovery.
