A heated public disagreement has erupted between composer Santhosh Narayanan and rapper Arivu over the hit song 'Enjoy Enjaami,' released five years ago. The controversy reignited when social media users alleged Arivu was unfairly credited for the track.
Arivu stated on social media that he wrote the full lyrics, composed the main vocal melody, and performed the song based on his cultural experiences. He highlighted that the song, shot in his village, was presented as his own history, yet he was credited only as a 'featuring artist' and has received no royalty or payment in five years.
Santhosh Narayanan refuted these claims, stating the song's idea originated with Dhee, his stepdaughter, and included her tunes. He mentioned director Manikandan contributed to the concept, and Narayanan himself composed and produced all melodies. He acknowledged Arivu wrote the lyrics and adapted traditional Oppari lines, but insisted he suggested the word 'Enjaami'.
Narayanan further accused Arivu of making 'dishonest and delusional' claims and suggested Arivu had joined a 'stupid political bandwagon.' Arivu responded that his attempts to resolve the matter privately had failed and that facts speak for themselves through appropriate channels, emphasizing the dispute is about credit, rights, and dignity of labor.
