31 May
Summary
- A friend's thoughtful planning led to a surprise engagement.
- A viral TikTok captured the moment a proposal was delayed.
- The couple was later surprised with an engagement party.
A meticulously planned surprise engagement in Japan, orchestrated by a best friend, encountered a comical hurdle due to a hairstyle. The friend, intending to capture the proposal against a backdrop of cherry blossoms, found the perfect moment elusive due to weather and crowds.
Despite these challenges, the proposal was set for a specific day, but the bride-to-be's chosen hairstyle, a slicked bun, prompted a one-day postponement. This delay inadvertently led to a viral TikTok video, garnering millions of views.
The proposal eventually took place the following morning at Osaka Castle, overcoming a 100% chance of rain. The celebration continued back home with a surprise engagement party hosted by the same best friend, who even arranged a fake "soft opening" to maintain the element of surprise.
