Prime Video has released a teaser for Enfrentados: Marfil (Drawn Together), a new young adult thriller romance based on Mercedes Ron's novel. The film follows Marfil Cortés, daughter of a Spanish tycoon, whose life in New York is disrupted by an unexplained abduction. She is subsequently assigned Sebastian Moore as her personal bodyguard.
Despite initial professional distance, Marfil and Sebastian develop an intense attraction. The narrative spans from New York to Spain, escalating with dangerous threats and complex circumstances. Ester Expósito plays Marfil, with Hugo Diego García as Sebastian. The film is set to premiere on September 9. This adaptation is part of a larger deal between Ron and Prime Video, known as the House of Ron, which aims to bring 10 of Ron's book adaptations to screen.
The success of Ron's previous works, like the Culpables trilogy which reached over 100 million viewers worldwide, has fueled Prime Video's investment in non-English language content. Amazon MGM Studios is expanding this partnership, developing more adaptations from Ron's novels, including the Bali series.
Enfrentados: Ébano, a sequel adapting the second half of the duology, has also been announced as the next installment in the franchise. Prime Video is committed to global accessibility, offering subtitles and dubbing in numerous languages across 240 countries and territories.
