Emraan Hashmi Reunites for Awarapan 2 Sequel, Filming Begins in Bangkok

Emraan Hashmi, the acclaimed Bollywood actor, is making a comeback to the big screen with the highly anticipated sequel to his 2007 cult film Awarapan. As of September 29th, 2025, filming has officially begun for Awarapan 2, with the production team led by director Nitin Kakkar and writer Bilal Siddiqui.
The first shooting schedule for the film is currently underway in Bangkok, Thailand. Vishesh Films, the production banner behind the project, shared the update on their Instagram, posting a picture of the film's clapper board with the caption "Mahurat Shot," signaling the start of principal photography.
Awarapan 2 is set to continue the story from the original film, which was directed by Mohit Suri and also starred Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana. The new installment promises to deliver an engaging action drama that will captivate audiences when it hits theaters on April 3rd, 2026.
In addition to the Awarapan 2 announcement, Emraan Hashmi has also been receiving praise for his recent cameo appearance in Aryan Khan's directorial debut, The Bastards of Bollywood, on the streaming platform Netflix. In one particularly memorable scene, Hashmi's character is celebrated by a die-hard fan, played by Raghav Juyal, who breaks into a rendition of the actor's hit song "Kaho Na Karo" from the 2004 film Murder.
