Emraan Hashmi is slated to star alongside Genelia Deshmukh and Aparshakti Khurana in the upcoming action film, Gunmaaster G9. This project marks a significant reunion, as director Aditya Datt and Hashmi are collaborating again after 20 years, following their work on Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Producer Deepak Mukut revealed the film's inspiration comes from Mithun Chakraborty's 1979 movie Surakksha, which featured the character Gunmaster G9.
The film's narrative, which blends themes of guns, mafia, and family, perfectly matches the Gunmaaster G9 title. Director Aditya Datt is overseeing the filming of an extensive 8-day car chase sequence in Mumbai. Producer Mukut highlighted the significant action elements, including two major sequences featuring Emraan and Genelia, with further outdoor shooting planned in Rishikesh, Haridwar, Mussoorie, and Delhi.
Furthermore, Gunmaaster G9 celebrates the reunion of the successful trio behind Aashiq Banaya Aapne: Emraan Hashmi, Aditya Datt, and music composer Himesh Reshammiya. Mukut expressed confidence that this collaboration would generate significant excitement among audiences. Reshammiya has already presented five to six potential songs for the film, which Mukut described as lovely and poised to be public hits.
