'Empire of Lies': A Thriller of Truth and Deception

Magus Films is expanding its operations to include UK distribution, with "Empire of Lies" slated as its inaugural theatrical and digital release. The film is scheduled to premiere in the UK on March 21.

Directed by Matthew Hope, "Empire of Lies" features Joseph Millson as David Harris, a reclusive man who agrees to an interview concerning his daughter's unsolved murder. As the interrogation progresses, Dave's conviction of being framed by the State begins to crumble, creating a complex narrative of truth, obsession, and self-deception.

Jonathan Sadler, founder of Magus Films, views this move into distribution as a natural progression of his career. He expressed his interest in offering completed independent films a realistic market entry by leveraging his extensive marketing and distribution expertise. Sadler emphasized a unified approach to creative shaping, audience positioning, and partnerships, ensuring distribution is not an afterthought.

"Empire of Lies" was chosen as the right project to actively engage in the UK theatrical scene. Magus Films plans to collaborate with filmmakers on a project-by-project basis to properly bring their completed films to market. This strategy includes exploring opportunities beyond UK theatrical releases into digital and international markets, as demonstrated by their partnership with international sales agent Exit 44 Entertainment for worldwide representation of "Empire of Lies."
