Emmys 2026 Dates Shift: Key Categories Delayed

The television academy has announced a revised schedule for the 2026 Emmy Awards. The main awards ceremony is slated to be broadcast live on Monday, September 14, 2026. This adjustment moves the event from its traditional Sunday night slot. Furthermore, the nominations for a select group of 13 craft categories will be unveiled separately on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, a week after the majority of nominations are revealed.

These 13 categories, including cinematography, music composition, and sound editing, utilize a unique peer-group screening panel process for selecting nominees. While the voting method remains consistent, the separate announcement date for these specific categories is a new development. The nomination-round voting period will run from June 11 to June 22, with peer-group specific voting from June 26 to July 7.
