Emmy Winners Danes and McGregor to Star in Hulu's Gripping New Drama 'The Spot'

In a highly anticipated move, Emmy winners Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor have been tapped to headline the Hulu drama series 'The Spot', set to premiere in 2026. The series, created by Ed Solomon, follows a successful surgeon (Danes) and her school teacher husband (McGregor) as they become embroiled in a web of suspicion and dark secrets after beginning to suspect the surgeon may be responsible for a child's hit-and-run death.

The project, which landed at Hulu in August 2024 with a straight-to-series order, was initially set to star Kate Winslet, but she departed the series in June for creative reasons. Danes was then approached to take over the lead role a couple of weeks later, kicking off months of negotiations before she officially joined the cast.
