Emmy Snub: 'Knight of Seven Kingdoms' Cast Ignored
9 Jul
Summary
- The prequel series received nine Emmy nominations but no acting nods.
- Fans expressed outrage over the absence of acting nominations online.
- Filming for 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' Season 2 is currently underway.
The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards nominations have highlighted a surprising exclusion for the HBO series 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.' Despite securing nine nominations, including a coveted spot for Outstanding Drama Series, the show's cast received no individual acting accolades.
This absence has ignited a strong reaction from fans, who took to social media to voice their disappointment. A particular focus of this outcry is the perceived oversight of young actor Dexter Sol Ansell, who portrays the character of Egg. Many viewers consider his exclusion from the nominations a significant surprise.
In previous discussions, co-star Peter Claffey praised Dexter's talent, drawing comparisons to other acclaimed young actors. Claffey expressed hope that Dexter would remain focused on the acting process rather than solely on awards, emphasizing the subjective nature of artistic recognition.
Dexter himself conveyed a passion for acting purely for enjoyment, stating, "I don't care about that. I'm just doing it (acting) because I like it." The series is currently proceeding with filming for its second season.
