Emmerdale actor Bradley Riches, who portrays Lewis Barton on the ITV soap, is celebrating a significant personal milestone. He is engaged to theatre director Scott Johnston, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2020. The couple announced their engagement on April 8, 2024, sharing their joy on Instagram.

Their engagement took place in Sorrento, Italy, a location that later presented a unique challenge for their wedding plans. Riches revealed in May 2025 that while they had initially considered Italy for their ceremony, they learned that same-sex marriage is not legally permitted in the country. This discovery led them to abandon those plans.

Instead, the couple has secured a venue at a "lovely English manor house" for their wedding, scheduled for April 2026. Riches recently shared that their nuptials are imminent, with only two months remaining until they "say 'I do.'" He also confirmed that Sharon Osbourne, whom he befriended during Celebrity Big Brother in 2024, will be attending the ceremony.
