Emma Roberts is set to star in the upcoming folklore horror film, "A Body in the Woods." Roberts will portray Alice Lincoln, a woman in the early 20th century residing in the isolated Marshall Woods, an area steeped in legends of a malevolent witch.

The narrative centers on Alice, who finds herself alone in her remote cabin, guarding the body of an unidentified mine worker. Disturbing events in the darkness lead her to suspect the corpse may not be at rest, intensifying her fear.

Stephen Cognetti, creator of the Hell House franchise, has penned the script and will direct the film. Production is slated to commence in September, with Dave Caplan of C2 Motion Picture Group providing the financing. This project marks the first film from the new U.S. sales firm, Manifest Pictures.
