Emirati Director's Psychological Thriller 'The Vile' Premieres Globally

In a significant development, Telfaz11 has secured the Saudi distribution rights for the psychological horror-thriller 'The Vile', directed by Emirati filmmaker Majid Al Ansari. The film, which is the first Arabic-language title produced under the Spooky Pictures-Image Nation partnership, had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest earlier this month, where it was awarded the Best Film accolade in the festival's horror competition.

Telfaz11, a leading Saudi entertainment company, will also retain the post-theatrical rights for the MENA region. The film's worldwide sales are being handled by AGC International and Cinetic Media, while VOX Cinemas will be responsible for the theatrical distribution in the UAE.

'The Vile' is produced by a team of horror veterans, including Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Derek Dauchy, Rami Yasin, and executive producers Mohamed Hefzy and Yasir Al Yasiri. The film follows the story of Amani, whose peaceful life as a wife and mother is shattered when her husband brings home a second wife, unleashing mysterious dark forces into their household. The film stars Emirati actress Bdoor Mohammad, Saudi actress and filmmaker Sarah Taibah, and Iman Doghoz.

After its successful launch at Fantastic Fest, 'The Vile' is set to have its international premiere at Sitges Film Festival before screening at the London Film Festival. The film will open in UAE cinemas on October 30, ahead of its Saudi release in November.
