Emily Atack reveals sepsis battle post-birth

Emily Atack has bravely shared her experience with sepsis, a life-threatening infection, following the birth of her son Barney in 2024. The actress described a challenging pregnancy and a difficult postpartum period, during which she was unable to leave her home for several weeks due to her illness. She candidly spoke about facing public scrutiny and online trolling regarding her body changes, both during and after her pregnancy.

Atack expressed frustration with the constant judgment on women's bodies, stating that her physical changes are linked to her emotional experiences. She is now focusing on her recovery and upcoming wedding to fiancé Dr. Alistair Garner. The ceremony is planned for September, to be held abroad, with co-stars invited.

Looking ahead, Atack is also celebrating her son Barney's second birthday this summer. While she cherishes motherhood, she currently has no plans for more children, dedicating her attention to her energetic son. She described life as a new mother as stressful yet blissful, acknowledging her good fortune.
