Ahead of next week's American Film Market, Rocket Science has boarded international sales for the film Next Life, which tells the love story of Ivy (played by Emilia Clarke). The movie follows Ivy as she finds herself confronted with parallel universes, where her life unfolds in very different ways against the backdrop of London's modern jazz scene.
In one reality, Ivy meets Diego (Ramírez), who inspires her to pursue her dreams no matter the cost. In the other, she rekindles her relationship with Noah (Farthing), whom she sees a viable future with. The film is produced by a team that includes Mutressa's Elika Portnoy, Gleb Fetisov of Fetisoff Illusion, 42's Ben Pugh and Kate Buckley, as well as Emilia Clarke through her production company Magical Thinking Pictures.
Next Life features a score composed by four-time Oscar-nominated Dan Romer and marks the first acting role for Femi Koleoso, the drummer and leader of the BRIT Award and Mercury Music Prize-winning British jazz group Ezra Collective. Rocket Science CEO Thorsten Schumacher described the film as "a sumptuous crowd-pleaser about following your passions, full of style, heart and emotion, showcasing London and its vibrant music scene and featuring revelatory performances from the cast, led by a luminous Emilia Clarke."
