Baz Luhrmann is set to release his documentary, EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, shedding new light on the legendary King of Rock 'n' Roll. The film features extensive, previously unreleased footage from Elvis Presley's iconic, though sometimes controversial, Las Vegas residency during the 1970s. It combines rare 16mm recordings from the 1972 film "Elvis on Tour" with intimate 8mm footage from the Graceland archives.
The trailer hints at a significant discovery, with onscreen text stating "For 40 years, there have been rumors of lost footage. ... It was found." Luhrmann revealed that during the production of his film "Elvis," he accessed studio vaults containing unused negatives from "Elvis's legendary 1970 Summer Festival in Las Vegas" and "Elvis on Tour."
EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert was acquired by Neon and Universal Pictures Content Group in October. It is scheduled for an exclusive weeklong run in IMAX theaters starting February 20, 2025, with a global theatrical release following one week later, promising fans an unprecedented look at The King's most electrifying performances.
