Ellen Pompeo is set to star in and executive produce a new dramedy pilot for Hulu, titled "Chicks." This project reunites her with "Good American Family" collaborator Katie Robbins, who is writing and executive producing the pilot, with 20th Television serving as the studio.
The story unfolds in the rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods of old Boston. It centers on Chickie, played by Pompeo, and her estranged half-sister Doreen. Both are struggling financially when their father passes away unexpectedly.
Their only inheritance is a legacy of petty crime, which sparks an idea for them to execute increasingly audacious frauds. As their cons escalate, so does their unconventional sisterly bond, each finding solace and connection in the other.
