24 Apr
Summary
- Editor suspended for violating bylaws and negligence.
- Online leak of 'Jana Nayagan' film under investigation.
- Three key accused arrested in recent piracy crackdown.

Pradeep E Raghav, an editor, has been suspended by the South Indian Film Editors Association due to alleged violations of its bylaws and negligence. These issues were linked to his work on films, including Jana Nayagan. The Association stated that Raghav repeatedly hired non-members as assistants, contravening regulations.
The illegal online release of Jana Nayagan also came under scrutiny. While Raghav was not the direct cause of the leak, he acknowledged that his negligence played a role. The Association considers such lapses a significant threat to the film industry.
An emergency Executive Committee meeting on April 17 led to Raghav's suspension to uphold industry standards. The Association will cease all cooperation with him during this period and seeks support from other industry bodies.
In a related development, the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing arrested three individuals on April 15 concerning the Jana Nayagan leak. This follows an earlier probe that resulted in six arrests for pirated content circulation. The Madras High Court has issued a temporary order against the distribution of the uncertified Jana Nayagan copy.
