The Edinburgh Festival Fringe has concluded its most successful year to date, reporting a record-breaking 2.8 million tickets issued for its shows. This figure represents a significant 8% increase compared to the previous year's attendance.
The festival also achieved its highest-ever single-day attendance. On the second Saturday of August, more than 164,000 tickets were issued, surpassing the previous peak recorded on August 17, 2019, by 1%.
Over its 25-day run, the Fringe showcased a diverse program with approximately 4,232 distinct shows. These performances hailed from 77 different countries, resulting in a total of 61,277 individual performances across 306 venues.
Despite the overall success, some performers expressed concerns regarding the festival's later start date this year.
