Edinburgh's much-anticipated summer festival season commenced this past weekend with the energetic Festival Carnival. This vibrant, multicultural event saw more than 800 people participate in a colorful display of culture and performance.
Organized by the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, this year's parade adopted a modified route. The change was necessitated by a recent fire at a former department store, leading the procession to bypass Princes Street.
The festival promises an extensive program of 100 concerts throughout the upcoming week. Highlights include a special celebration of jazz originating from the Netherlands and a heartfelt tribute to the acclaimed Edinburgh pianist, Brian Kellock.
