Edie Falco recently recounted a memorable behind-the-scenes challenge from her time on The Sopranos.
During a Q&A session, Falco, who portrayed Carmela Soprano, discussed filming the season 3 episode "A Second Opinion" with veteran actor Sully Boyar. Boyar, who played psychiatrist Dr. Krakower, experienced significant difficulty remembering his lines, causing extensive delays.
To overcome this, the production team resorted to using large cue cards. Falco described how she held these cards, moving them slowly to help Boyar maintain eye contact while delivering his dialogue.
Despite the arduous filming process, the final scene appeared seamless to viewers. Boyar, who passed away in 2001 at age 77, gave an incredible performance, and the episode earned Falco an Emmy Award.
